The best part? It’s incredibly simple to make with basic pantry ingredients!
Let’s walk through this step-by-step recipe, with helpful tips along the way to guarantee perfect waffles every time.

🛒 Ingredients

➤ 2 large eggs
➤ A pinch of salt
➤ ⅓ cup (2.5 oz / 70 g) sugar
➤ 5 tablespoons (2.8 oz / 80 g) butter, melted and slightly cooled
➤ 1 teaspoon baking powder
➤ ½ cup (130 ml / 4.4 fl oz) milk
➤ 1 ½ cups (6.7 oz / 190 g) all-purpose flour
➤ Vegetable oil (for greasing the waffle iron)

⏱ Cooking Time

10 - 15 min

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Whip the Eggs and Sugar

➤ Crack 2 large eggs into a mixing bowl.

➤ Add a pinch of salt and 1/3 cup sugar.

➤ Using a hand mixer, beat the mixture until it becomes very light, fluffy, and airy.  You should see a beautiful, creamy foam — that’s exactly what we want!

💡Helpful Tip:

The more air you incorporate at this stage, the softer and more tender your waffles will be.

2. Add Melted Butter

➤ Pour in 5 tablespoons (80 g) of melted butter. Make sure it’s warm but not hot.

👉 If the butter is too hot, it can partially cook the eggs and ruin the texture. Let it cool slightly before adding.

3. Combine the Dry and Wet Ingredients

➤ Stir in 1 teaspoon of baking powder. This will help the waffles rise and become fluffy inside.

➤ Add half of the milk (about 1/4 cup) and half of the flour (about 3/4 cup) to the bowl.

➤ Mix gently with whisk until the ingredients are well combined.

➤ Then add: the remaining milk and remaining flour

➤ Mix with whisk again until fully combined.

💡Helpful Tip:

➤ Adding dry and wet ingredients in stages prevents lumps and creates a smoother batter. Avoid overmixing — stir just until combined.
➤ The batter should be smooth, thick, and pourable. It should slowly fall from a spoon but not be runny.

4. Baking the Waffles

➤ Preheat your waffle iron for 5–7 minutes.

➤ Lightly grease both sides with vegetable oil.

➤  Pour the batter into the center of each waffle section. Do not overfill — the batter expands during cooking.

➤  Close the waffle iron and bake for 5–7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

💡Helpful Tip:

Avoid opening the waffle iron too early. Wait until steam significantly reduces — this usually means the waffles are ready.
